You can make all the plans you want, but sometimes life has other ideas. Isaac Carraro and his wife, Nilliana, had decided they would wait before getting a furry friend, especially with their busy travel schedule as newlyweds. They even assumed their first pet would eventually be a dog. However, a chance meeting with a tiny cat ended up changing their minds, as seen in a heartwarming adoption video.
Newlyweds come home after adopting a cat on their trip
Isaac Carraro, a wedding photographer who shares content on Instagram through @carraromedia, recently documented the story of how he and his wife adopted their cat, Tiny. Through a voiceover accompanied by clips of the kitten, Carraro explained that the couple met the orange-and-white tabby while staying at an Airbnb in Arkansas.
According to Carraro, Tiny belonged to the property’s owners and was living as a barn cat. During the five days the couple spent there, the kitten frequently followed them around. What began as a casual interaction soon turned into a daily routine, with the newlyweds spending more and more time with the friendly feline.
The connection caught them by surprise. Carraro explained that he and Nilliana had originally planned to wait before bringing any pets into their home. As newlyweds who travel frequently, they felt it made sense to postpone the responsibility. Even when they did eventually get a pet, they had imagined their first companion would likely be a dog.
But Tiny quickly changed their minds. After growing attached to the kitten during their stay, the couple reached out to the owners the night before they were scheduled to leave. They asked whether they could adopt Tiny and take him home with them. To their delight, the owners agreed.
The cat adoption video then shows the couple returning home with their new companion. Since Tiny had been living as a barn cat, he arrived with a few challenges, including fleas. Carraro said they immediately gave him a thorough bath with soap and cleaned him up once they got home.
Reflecting on the experience, Carraro admitted the adoption was never part of the plan. “We did not expect to come home with a cat,” he said. Despite the unexpected turn of events, he added that Tiny has been relatively low-maintenance and impossible to resist. For Carraro and Nilliana, a trip that was meant to be temporary ended with a permanent addition to their household.
