Franklin was diagnosed with chronic renal failure in November. Rather unusual for such a young guy, and heartbreaking for me bc he’s my snuggly little heart and soul cat. In an effort to support his kidneys as much as possible we are using eastern medicine, including herbs and acupuncture, to help support and possibly revitalize is kidneys. We are so lucky to have All Creatures Acupuncture Holistic Veterinary Therapies right here in Bucksport. Today was Frank’s first time being a pin cushion and he tolerated it really well! I covered him with my scarf because he feels more relaxed when he can hide his face and go into a safe little cave. He was still, quiet, and peaceful throughout the whole treatment—even during the insertion and stimulation of lots of needles! And he really seemed to like looking out the window at the water, too. He hates being stuffed into his carrier, and we were late for our appointment because he hid so well once he figured out it was coming. But he was really cooperative and lovely once we were there. Fingers crossed. Peace, Fellow Mammals!
