Licorice & Skittles, a sing-a-long

If you’re new to Licorice and Skittles…they were found very ill and near death — one of their litter died before the remaining four found their way to Ashley (@youngestoldcatlady). Each litter Ashley rescues gets a theme name, and along with their sisters, Pop Rocks and Lollipop, Licorice and Skittles are the Candy Kittens. With ’round-the-clock care, patience, and a lot of experience, Ashley has nursed the Candy Kittens back to health. It’s freaking amazing, but she does this all the time.

This song was inspired by Ashley and all the amazing work she does to rescue, foster, and TNR cats in our area. She’s totally dedicated to this effort, full time, and with a full house of cats. We’ve been collecting her rescues since 2015 — Licorice and Skittles will make five.

Like most of you, we’re careful about where we donate money, and are always concerned that the donation gets to where we think it is going. We know that donations to Ashley go straight into providing food, shelter, medicine, and all the necessities little kitties need. We have set up a monthly donation through Patreon and have purchased supplies from her Amazon wish list, to help her continue her good work. We hope our song and video will inspire you to follow her rescue work and, possibly, to support her as well.

P.S. Our whole family wrote the lyrics and the youngest member composed the music and sang. Please no questions about the kid, we’re protecting her privacy on social media, as she may want to be a Supreme Court justice someday and not want everyone knowing how much she really likes beer and weightlifting with PJ and Squee.
