His face stretches out, his whiskers come in, and those wide kitten eyes start looking more grown-up. He goes from pawing at a blanket and trying to reach the camera to sitting confidently on a couch and then a cat tower. By the final clip, Pluto is perched on a delivery box looking like a proper adult cat. Still handsome, just much bigger.
Cat’s face changes dramatically as his kitten features give way to adulthood
The first Pluto is almost comically small. He is tucked into a blanket, smacking his tiny lips while the text asks viewers to “watch my cat slowly lose his kitten features.” The next clip catches him a little further along. He is still tiny, but now his eyes are wide and alert as he paws at the blanket and tries to crawl towards the camera.
Then the changes start becoming harder to miss. His whiskers are fuller, and his eyes look brighter. He is even sitting up on the couch now. He looks less like a kitten who has just discovered the world and more like he knows exactly where he wants to be.
Another jump forward puts Pluto on a cat tower. His face has changed again, and there’s a little more of that mature look starting to show. Then comes the final version. Pluto is sitting on top of a delivery box, looking very much like an adult cat. The tiny round features from those first clips are gone, replaced by a handsome ginger tabby face.
His family captioned the post, “My furrever baby,” which feels fitting because apparently growing up doesn’t change his status at home. The transformation has collected more than 7,500 likes, and plenty of viewers are feeling both sides of watching a kitten grow.
One person admitted, “Always get so sad about it but love it at the same time!” Another called Pluto “such a handsome boy” and said gingers are their favorite. Pluto’s mom added that she can’t believe he is turning three next month because “time is flying.”
