In this Instagram video, a cat reaches out her tiny paws to find a favorite person, and the entire internet melts. Stevie is sitting on a fluffy towel when mom brings a finger close enough for her to find, and the blind cat immediately starts feeling for it with her paw. She flexes her tiny toe beans around the finger, then pulls it closer and holds on. The video was shared by @eyelesscatmom and shows just how Stevie and mom have learned to connect through touch.

Blind cat holds on to Mom’s finger the moment she finds it

More than 2,000 people have liked this blind cat video. In it, Mom starts by placing her finger near Stevie’s paw while the cat sits comfortably on the towel. As soon as Stevie finds it, her toe beans begin flexing around the finger. She does it a couple of times, feeling for mom before closing her paw around her finger. Then she pulls it closer.

Stevie holds on for a moment before lifting her face and letting go. But she reaches for the finger again almost immediately. This time, she brings it right up toward her nose. It is such a small interaction, but Stevie seems completely focused on keeping that contact. She finds mom by touch, holds her finger, lets go, then decides she wants it back.

According to Stevie’s bio, she was born without eyes and has learned to navigate life differently. Her owner has also previously shared that Stevie will grab a finger and pull someone closer when she wants affection. So this little exchange fits a habit that her family already knows well. For a blind cat, Stevie has found her own way to make sure her favorite person, aka Mom, stays within reach.

The caption says, “I’ve never felt more loved by someone in my life,” and viewers clearly felt the affection in the clip, too. One person noted that cats can use touch and smell to recognize their human parents. Another said Stevie always manages to bring a smile after a rough day. For a blind cat, Stevie has found her own way to make sure her favorite person, aka Mom, stays within reach.
